Tuapse, Black sea port
Tuapse administrative area is in the south of Krasnodar region, in the center of Caucasian Black sea coast. Tuapse area stretches out directly along the Main Caucasian crest from the north-west to the south-east and makes up 80 km. The area borders on Geledzhick in the north-west, with Severski and Goryachi Klyuch administrative areas, with Apsheronski area – in the east, with Lazarevski are of Sochi spa-town in the south-east. Tuapse area is on the edge of two climatic zones: from Anapa to Tuapse there is a Mediterranean climate: hot dry summer, cold winter with frosts. To the south of Tuapse (the coast line and pre-mountains) the climate changes to sub-tropical and is characterized as moist, warm, with 1500 mm annual precipitation with no snow and frost. In Nebug-Tuapse line the climate is transitional. Summer starts from the end of April and lasts till the end of September. Sunny, warm, sufficiently moist weather prevails in this period. In the course of the year annual precipitation is 1280 mm, more then the half of it happens in the cool period. Swimming season starts in June, when the Black sea warms up to 20 oC, and lasts till October. The number of nice weather days makes up 64 % in October, the first half of October warms sea water up to 22 oC. The average sea water is +25oC and +25oC in August and September. The beaches are covered with gravel, pebble and sand. The administrative area welcomes guests and holiday-makers in more then 250 institutions for cure and rest: sanatoria and resting-homes, tourist houses, hotels, private resting-houses. The offer for holiday-makers is one of the highest in scale in Russia. Tuapse is a young, dynamically developed spa resort, ready for reception of more guests.
